An old block of public toilets in Bridgend town centre, a former care home in Maesteg and a four-storey building in Porthcawl - which used to be council offices – were sold at a recent auction for a total amount of £736k.

No sports clubs to pay increased hire charges for playing fields and park pavilions

Cabinet members at Bridgend County Borough Council will discuss a series of new measures on February 25 designed to bolster its Community Asset Transfer (CAT) package and help sports clubs, town and community councils and other organisations take on more responsibility for outdoor sports facilities in the county borough.

Cabinet to discuss extra £8.8m

The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council is set to consider budget proposals for 2020-21 which could see an additional £8.8m invested in schools, highway maintenance, street cleansing, services for children who have additional learning needs and more.
