Apply for nursery admissions online

Applications for children starting full-time nursery in September 2020 and part-time nursery in January or April 2021 will open on 6 January 2020.

As well as being able to complete traditional paper forms, parents and carers have the more convenient option of applying online. Residents can simply sign up to My Account on the council website, removing the need to visit the offices in person, queue or wait for a telephone operator to be free. Residents will need to complete the relevant online form, and submit it before the deadline of 27 March 2020.

Online applications make the whole school admissions process much easier for parents and carers, making it faster, more convenient and efficient.

With more than 5,300 applications last year alone, My Account has processed almost 93 per cent of all requests for places at reception, junior or primary schools.

A separate application process is in place for admissions to voluntary aided or church schools, and parents and carers will need to contact them directly to request an application form. To ensure your child has a place in your selected nursery please get your applications in before the 27 March.

Once parents/carers have submitted their application, they will be able to see in their My Account that it has been received, giving them peace of mind. They will then be notified of the outcome of full-time nursery applications on 15 May 2020 and part-time nursery applications in November 2020.
