Christmas and New Year opening times

Opening times over the Christmas and New Year period have been confirmed by Bridgend County Borough Council.

This year, council offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and opening hours will return to normal on Thursday 2 January 2020:

• Monday 23rd December - Open 8:30am to 4pm
• Christmas Eve - Open 8:30am to 4pm
• Christmas Day - Closed
• Boxing Day - Closed
• Friday 27 December - Closed
• Monday 30 December - Open 8.30am to 4pm
• New Year’s Eve - Open 8.30am to 4pm
• New Year’s Day - Closed
• Thursday 2 January - Open 8.30am to 5pm

An emergency Social Services day service will be available during the festive period as well as an out-of-hours service, while the council’s recycling and waste collection partners, Kier, will be available to receive calls until 3.30pm on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

For their first rubbish collection after Christmas Day, residents will be able to put out an extra refuse bag.

While waste and recycling collections will take place on Christmas Eve, there won’t be any on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, and all collections will be two days later for the rest of that week.

Collections will take place on New Year’s Eve, but not on New Year’s Day, and all collections will be one day later than normal for the rest of that week before returning to normal on Monday 6 January.
