Council meetings available for webcasting

Bridgend County Borough residents with a keen eye for local issues will be able to watch webcasts of several public meetings being held this summer.

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed that the following meetings will be available to watch on ‘catch up’ once the meeting has ended.

Tuesday 21 July, 2:30pm: Cabinet
Wednesday 22 July, 3pm: Council
Thursday 23 July, 2pm: Development Control Committee

These meetings will give residents an insight into the current matters and future developments in Bridgend County Borough. Webcasting allows us to become even more transparent and is a great way to engage with local residents.

Several years ago, the Welsh Government awarded us funding to set up our webcasting system, and since then we have monitored the viewing figures so that we can broadcast the meetings which have the most public interest. These forthcoming meetings scheduled for webcasting will cover a range of topics, including decisions about the future of post-16 education across the County Borough.

Councillor Huw David, Leader of Bridgend County Borough Council

Due to the requirement for social distancing meetings are not being held in their usual location. Meetings are taking place online with council members and officers attending remotely. The meetings will be transmitted at www.bridgend.gov.uk, and will be recorded and archived so that residents can watch them at their convenience for up to 12 months.
