A long-term testing facility is now at the Bowls Hall car park of the Bridgend Life Centre between 2pm-8pm. To access this walk through facility you will need to book an appointment in advance by visiting the Welsh Government website or by calling 119. If you have hearing or speech difficulties: call 18001119.
The testing site at Porthcawl RFC (CF36 3DH) has now closed.
A new drive-through mobile facility is available at the site of the former Revlon (Cosi) factory at Oakwood Drive in Maesteg (CF34 9TS). The facility is open all week except Tuesdays. Booking is essential.
Two ndrive-through testing facilities will also open from Friday 27 August at Coity and Litchard Community Centre (CF31 1PA). It will be open from 9am-5pm. Booking is essential.

No. You can only access the testing centre if you are a resident living anywhere in Bridgend County Borough.
Only attend the testing centre if you are showing coronavirus symptoms:
- a new continuous cough
- a high temperature
- a loss of / change to your normal sense of smell or taste.

If you are a contact of a case and have been told to self-isolate, you must do this for 10 days and should not leave your home for any reason other than to have a test.
If you become symptomatic, you need to have a test as soon as possible and follow the advice given by the healthcare professionals.

Bridgend County Borough residents can now book a coronavirus test if they’re feeling unwell, even if they don’t have any of the main symptoms.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has made the change as restrictions are eased so that any cases of Covid-19 can be detected as soon as possible.
If you have any of the three main symptoms – a high temperature, new continuous cough, or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, you must book a test as soon as possible and self-isolate at home until you get the result.
This includes people who have been vaccinated as they may still be able to pass the virus to others.
You can now also book a test if you feel unwell but don’t have one of the three main symptoms of coronavirus. Examples of other symptoms could include a sore throat, headache, nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting.
When you get tested for other symptoms, you don’t have to self-isolate while you wait for your result. You will only have to self-isolate if your test comes back positive.

You can book a home test online.
On arrival, you will be asked to provide your name, date of birth and address and will be guided through the process by staff.
Yes. You will be asked to self-swab. You will be completely guided though the process by healthcare professionals at the testing centre.
Most people get their test results the day after taking the test via text message. Some results might take longer, but you should receive them within 72 hours.

The Covid-19 situation in Bridgend County Borough will continue to be monitored, and this will influence decisions on how long the temporary testing unit will be in place.
No. You can only access testing if you already have symptoms.
There is no increased risk as long as you continue to adhere to social distancing, and only leave your home to go directly to the testing unit and go straight back home again while avoiding public transport.
You will be asked to maintain social distancing at the testing centre, and to also wear a mask while waiting for your test.
Covid-19 testing for the purposes of international travel is not available for free. You’ll instead have to pay for pre-departure testing with a private company, or for post-arrival testing with an NHS ‘travel test package’. If you haven’t paid for a test, then it isn’t valid for travel.
Free NHS testing is for individuals with symptoms or who have been advised to take a test by a medical practitioner or a public agency. Individuals who do not fall into these categories and require a test for other reasons can contact providers for general Covid-19 testing to book a coronavirus test at their own expense.
