Update re Covid-19 testing facility in Llangeinor

The mobile testing facility at the Richard Price Centre in Llangeinor has reopened today (Wednesday, October 28) after technical difficulties forced it to close early yesterday.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed it has relocated a mobile testing unit from elsewhere in the region to the Richard Price Centre to ensure the county borough continues to have a testing facility.

The health board had previously planned to close the facility at the end of today (Wednesday) but the relocation of one from elsewhere means there will continue to be a testing unit at the Richard Price Centre until sometime next week.

You can access a test either by dropping in during the day or by booking ahead via the gov website.

A Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board spokesman said: “Mobile testing units provide a rapid response to emerging ‘hotspot’ areas and as a result are directed to areas of concern for certain periods of time.

“We are guided by Public Health Wales data - with numbers rising over the past few weeks in Bridgend county borough we have worked hard to ensure there were additional resources in place to enable residents to be tested close to where they live.”

The health board will shortly be announcing details of a new testing site in the county borough.
