Our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II
Following the sad announcement from Buckingham Palace that our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, the United Kingdom has entered a period of national mourning which will be in place between now and the day after her funeral.
Book of condolences
A book of condolences is open to sign at Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend (CF31 4WB) from 1.30pm to 5.00pm today and on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September, between 10am and 4pm.
From Monday 12 September to Thursday 15 September, you will be able to sign the book of condolences between 8.30am-5pm, between 8.30am and 4pm on Friday 16 September, and on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September, between 10am and 4pm.

Floral tributes
Floral tributes can be left at the following location and will be removed after our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Proclamation
The Royal Proclamation ceremony took place at 1.30pm outside the Civic Offices where the new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III, was officially announced by Mayor Councillor Martyn Jones.
As a sign of respect, flags at the Civic Offices have been flown at half-mast. They have been raised to mark the proclamation of the accession of the new monarch, then will return to half-mast until the funeral of our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II has taken place.
State Funeral
Arrangements for the Funeral of our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II, and the surrounding ceremonial, have now been announced: https://www.royal.uk/arrangements-funeral-her-majesty-queen.
The Funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey at 11am on Monday 19 September, which will be a bank holiday.
In the period leading up to the funeral of our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II, schools and colleges will remain open across Wales.
All Council public meetings will be cancelled or postponed for the duration of the period of national mourning, until after the funeral of our late Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II.
