A £2.25m repair and refurbishment programme for local roads, footpaths and bridges has resumed after being temporarily suspended during Storm Aiden.
Bridgend County Borough Council and contractors agreed to a temporary pause when high winds and heavy rainfall prevented work from progressing at Cae Wallis.
While new arrangements are made for Cae Wallis, the work will start again at Bedford Road in Cefn Cribwr on Wednesday 4 November.
The £2.25m investment into the local highway network is using funding from Welsh Government and the council’s Capital Programme for 2020-21.
By the time that the work is completed, 44 local roads, eight footways and two bridges in communities located throughout the county borough will have been refurbished, resurfaced and improved.
This represents a multi-million pound investment into the local highways infrastructure by Bridgend County Borough Council, and I am pleased to see that the work is making progress despite the ongoing pandemic and recent severe weather.
