3GS enforcement officers are on the beat once more in a bid to curb littering and dog fouling across Bridgend County Borough Council.
The officers will be out on patrol across areas that are known hotspots for these offences and carry the power to issue fixed penalty notices to anyone caught dropping rubbish or failing to clean up after their dog.
After 3GS’ work in the county borough was impacted by Covid-19, the team returned to duty in April and have already handed out 85 fixed penalty notices for littering including smoking related litter.
In the year leading up to the coronavirus pandemic (April 2019-March 2020), 3GS officers helped cut down littering in the county borough by issuing over 760 fixed penalty notices for littering with a high rate of payment or successful prosecution.
The work done by 3GS enforcement areas is vital to keeping littering and dog fouling offences as low as possible.
Their powers to enforce and hand out fixed penalty notices to those found flouting the rules will hopefully act as an effective deterrent and help keep Bridgend County Borough free from litter and dog waste.
