Jubilee street parties in Bridgend County Borough

Residents of Bridgend County Borough are being reminded not to leave it too late if they want to apply for a temporary road closure and hold a street party as part of the Queen’s forthcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee set to be marked with a series of national events and a four-day bank holiday weekend between Thursday 2 June – Sunday 5 June, residents of Bridgend County Borough are being reminded of what they need to do if they want to organise a street party or other community event.

New community garden officially opened in Nantymoel

Councillors and special guests recently attended the official opening by the Mayor, Cllr John Spanswick, of a new community garden, created on the site of the old Berwyn Centre Miners Hall in Nantymoel.

Rest bay playing fields and pavilion transformed into sports community hub

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Huw David, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Education Councillor, Charles Smith and Cabinet Member for Communities, Councillor Stuart Baldwin, recently visited the re-developed Rest Bay playing fields and pavilion building after a successful community asset transfer (CAT), which allowed Rest Bay Sports (RBS) to develop a community friendly / sports hub.
