Apply for secondary school places online

Secondary school admissions for September 2020 open on Monday 21 October and it’s quick and easy to apply online.

Parents and carers will have the option of applying for their child’s place using an online form available in the ‘My Account’ section on the council’s website.

To be able to fill in a secondary school admission application online, residents simply need to sign up to ‘My Account’ by supplying an email address.

If you are in any doubt about catchment areas, then please check the catchment maps on the school admission pages of our website first before you apply.

Once the secondary school applications open, parents and carers of primary school pupils who are currently in year six will have until Friday 24 January 2020 to submit their application. They will then be notified of the outcome of their application on Monday 2 March 2020.

Parents and carers are being warned that failure to submit an application by the deadline may result in their child being refused a place at the school of their choice.

Please note that a separate application process is followed for admissions to Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School. Parents and carers should contact the school directly for an application form.
