Bridgend goes back in time with Wartime event.

Bridgend town centre will be travelling back in time to World War I and World War II this Saturday 16 June, 10am – 5pm with an array of activities and re-enactments to celebrate 100 years since the end of the First World War.

 

The events main attraction will be a static full scale World War I Bristol Scout Plane replica located next to the Stone Bridge on Dunraven Street.

 

There will also be live entertainment throughout the day, along with a Winston Churchill look-a-like, vintage makeovers, period games and war-time crafts.

 

The event has been organised by Carnegie House in partnership with Bridgend Town Council and CF31 Bid.

 

Along with Wartime Bridgend, the town centre will also host its regular monthly street market on Saturday, as well as an indoor craft market.

 

The monthly street market organised by CF31 Bid and Bridgend County Borough Council will be located along Caroline Street between 10am and 4pm with the indoor craft market situated inside the Rhiw.

 

The street market will also return every third of every Saturday of the month until October.

The wartime event will transport families back in time to experience World War I and World War II in a fun and exciting way.

The free event coincides with the monthly market and the indoor craft market providing lots of fun things to see and do in Bridgend this weekend.
