Bridgend Indoor Market is set to host events and activities this summer ranging from free activities for children to pop-up stalls from new businesses.
Every Tuesday throughout August, a Kids Club will take place between 11am - 2pm to keep children entertained with free arts, crafts creative play sessions.
The Kids Club sessions will begin on 2 August when Tanio Cymru holds a ‘Create Art With Nature’ event. Alison Moger will visit the market on both 9 August and 16 August to host ‘Flower Power Crafts’, and the last Kids Club of the month will culminate with Circus Eruption’s ‘The Big Play Day’ on 23 August.
While the event is free, spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, and children must accompanied by an adult.
Visitors to the Kids Club are also being encouraged to check out what the various stalls at the indoor market have to offer as well as a series of pop-up businesses that will be showcasing new products.
The guest stalls will be available throughout the summer as part of the Pop Up Wales initiative – a project which provides new enterprises with business space and wraparound support, including access to funding and grants.
Bridgend Indoor Market is ready to host a range of different events over the summer months, and we want as many people as possible to come and find out what it has to offer.
Featuring a new market square, baby changing facilities, wheelchair accessible toilets and more, the indoor market is making the most of its recent refurbishment, and it is great to see how it is now capable of hosting initiatives such as the new Kids Club and pop-up businesses.
The Kids Club promises to be a lot of fun, while the pop-up stalls will offer start-up business owners an enormous opportunity for showcasing their products and developing further while also helping to encourage more people to visit the indoor market.

Funding for both the Kids Club activities and pop-up business stalls is being provided as part of the £120,000 funding that the council has received from the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund for delivering the Bridgend Elevate and Prosper Project.
An additional £11,800 match funding has been received via the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns initiative, which is a Welsh Government programme providing support for the revitalisation of town centres in Wales.
