Covid-19 testing facility in Llangeinor to close

The mobile testing facility at the Richard Price Centre in Llangeinor will close at the end of Wednesday, October 28.

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board will shortly be announcing details of a new testing site in the county borough.

The health board currently has three mobile testing units in the region with one in each of the three local authority areas.

Mobile testing units provide a rapid response to emerging ‘hotspot’ areas and as a result are directed to areas of concern for certain periods of time.

We are guided by Public Health Wales data - with numbers rising over the past few weeks in Bridgend county borough we have worked hard to ensure there were additional resources in place to enable residents to be tested close to where they live.

For example we opened one in Llangeinor on October 8 after concerns over the numbers of positive Covid-19 cases in the Garw Valley. This one is now due to close at the end of Wednesday, October 28. We are planning to open a new one soon and will keep you updated of any developments. All members of the public can access a test at any of our sites.

The local health board are also involved in supporting Covid-19 testing among staff and patients in care homes, frontline workers and during any coronavirus outbreaks.

A mobile testing centre at the Evergreen Hall in Bridgend town centre closed on October 22.
