Do you know any unsung heroes in Bridgend County Borough who deserve a Mayor’s Citizenship Award?
The Mayor of Bridgend County Borough, Councillor John McCarthy, is inviting local residents to put forward the names of the special individuals, groups or businesses based locally who would be worthy winners.
It could be a volunteer who has regularly gone the extra mile for others over many years, somebody you know who is an exceptional charity fundraiser, someone who put the local area on the map by achieving something extraordinary during 2018, or a community group that is working wonders.
We want to uncover the stories of those unsung heroes who are making a positive impact, and reward fine examples of citizenship and community spirit.
The Mayor’s Citizenship Awards are our version of the New Years’ Honours List, but we can’t reward these community heroes without your help. The deadline for nominations is fast approaching, so please don’t miss the chance to give someone the appreciation they deserve.”
The Mayor, Councillor John McCarthy
The deadline for nominations is Friday 25 January, and the award winners will be honoured at an event hosted by the Mayor at the Civic Offices in Bridgend in March. Please visit the Mayor’s pages to complete a nomination form.
