A disused plot of land in Tondu is being transformed into a new Valleys to Coast (V2C) development of ten homes.
The three-storey development in Maesteg Road will consist of ten single-bedroom flats with car parking spaces available at the front of the property. The site, previously owned by a private landowner, has remained vacant for several years.
Construction work is due to begin this month with completion expected this time next year.
Darrin Davies, Corporate Director of Development & Growth at V2C, said: “We are really excited to be working to transform this land in Tondu and help meet the demand for smaller homes in the county borough. This project is a great example of how we are working towards our objective of delivering high quality, affordable housing to people in Bridgend, and creating homes that are safe and happy places.
“We are so pleased to be working with Bluefield Land and Spring Design, both local companies, in order to bring this build to life. Funding for the scheme has been secured from Welsh Government through our housing partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council.”
It’s fantastic to see a derelict site brought back into use with a high quality development of this sort providing much-needed accommodation in a popular area.
This is an ideal location for new homes with plenty of local amenities nearby and good transport links.
