Pupils across Bridgend County Borough schools are celebrating GCSE results day today (Thursday 25 August 2022).
Studying throughout the pandemic hasn’t been easy for learners, with many students having to adapt to different methods of learning and different examination procedures.
Lots of pupils have achieved fantastic grades in schools throughout the county borough today, with many choosing to continue their education in sixth form or college, while others have chosen to begin an apprenticeship or delve into the world of employment instead.
Councillor Jon-Paul Blundell, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “I’d like to congratulate pupils on their hard work leading up to receiving GCSE results day today. It is great to see lots of students achieving fantastic results after a tumultuous couple of years of learning.
Huge thanks are extended to teaching and support staff for dedicating themselves to ensure young people across the county borough are set up for success.”
I wish all the young people receiving GCSE results today, the best of luck for the future, whether that is opting to progress into sixth form, the College, training, apprenticeships, or employment.
We have seen some superb results coming from local schools across the county borough and I have no doubt that the class of 2022 will be successful in their future endeavours.
Council Leader, Councillor Huw David

- Consider an apprenticeship where you can work alongside industry professionals, earn a wage, and develop your skills – visit the Welsh Government website for more information.
