Get into the woods for Bridgend’s countryside volunteering events

So you love the great outdoors and enjoy meeting new people? If so, then why not join Bridgend County Borough Council’s countryside team on one (or all!) of their woodland management volunteering events this month.

The volunteering events will take place at the following Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) around Bridgend:

Tremains Wood, Brackla (CF31 2NL) at 10am on 9 February
Did you know…Tremains Wood is a lowland mixed broadleaved woodland situated in the middle of the Brackla housing development. Enjoy an accessible rural haven that shelters you from the hustle and bustle of our modern lives. Tremains Wood is family-friendly and it’s a perfect place for children to explore the meandering pathways leading through the woodland.

Frog Pond Wood, Pyle (CF33 6BL) at 10am on 2 February and 16 February
Did you know…Frog Pond Wood is a hidden gem! It’s a great place for a short walk with the family and you’ll feel as though you’re in the heart of the Welsh countryside, even though the woodland backs on to an industrial estate! It is mainly mixed oak/ash woodland but also has a pond and some wetland areas.
