How care home visits will resume in county borough

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed that it is seeking to reintroduce visits to care homes as soon as possible following the announcement from Welsh Government earlier today.
Using Welsh Government’s revised guidance, staff at council-run residential care homes throughout the area have started carrying out checks and undertaking risk assessments.
The revised guidance covers issues such as how routine indoor visiting by single designated visitors should be supported, how visiting pods or other enclosed spaces should be used, how the ongoing vaccination programme should be taken into account and more.
Each individual home will need to determine when it is safe for visiting to resume, and the council is sharing the updated guidance with other commissioned care home providers.
Some care home providers will find it more challenging than others to safely facilitate visits, so before making a visit, please ensure you contact the relevant home to find out what arrangements are in place.
We know that staying in contact with relatives and friends is important, and we are doing all that we can to ensure that this can resume as safely as possible.
We have to reintroduce this in a safe, managed way which meets all requirements of the revised guidance from Welsh Government, so please bear with us.
