Last chance to have your say in Net Zero Carbon consultation

Residents are reminded that they have until 30 August 2022 to take part in the Net Zero Carbon consultation to have their say and ensure that the Bridgend 2030 Strategy is delivered effectively.
The Bridgend 2030 Net Zero Carbon Strategy, or ‘Bridgend 2030 Strategy’ is the initial strategic step in achieving the council’s commitments. The strategy will also remain an integral part of the council’s Corporate Plan and Wellbeing Plan.
The consultation seeks the public’s views on decarbonisation, specifically, climate change, the council’s commitments, proposed initiatives, reducing our carbon footprint and more. Decarbonisation is the process of reducing ‘carbon intensity’ and lowering the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by burning fossil fuels.
The Net Zero Carbon consultation is closing soon, and it is vital that we capture as many people’s views as possible to deliver the Bridgend 2030 Strategy effectively.
We have seen a positive and steady response so far and urge anyone who has not yet taken part to take some time to have your say on how the local authority can combat the effects of climate change.
Councillor John Spanswick, Cabinet Member for Communities
