Polling stations welcome voters

Polling stations are now open (Thursday 6 May) from 7am until 10pm for the Senedd and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

In Nantymoel, polling stations are also hosting a local by-election for Bridgend County Borough Council.

Social distancing is in place at all polling stations, and you may have to queue to enter as there is a limit on the number of people allowed in at the same time. Anyone who is in a queue by the 10pm deadline will still be able to vote.

Regular cleaning is taking place at all polling stations during the day and hand sanitiser will be provided. Please note that unless you are exempt, you must wear a face covering before entering a polling station.

Each polling station will be clearly marked with signage and other information directing you where to go and how to maintain a safe distance from other voters and staff.

Clean pencils are available if needed, but voters are encouraged to bring their own pen or pencil to mark their ballot papers with.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus or are self-isolating, do not attend a polling station as it will put others at risk. Instead, you can arrange for someone to vote on your behalf by applying for an emergency proxy vote – visit the Electoral Commission website for more details.
