Public toilets reopen at Bridgend Bus Station

As lockdown conditions continue to ease, public toilet facilities have reopened at Bridgend bus station.

The toilets, which had to be temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, are available between 10am-4pm throughout the week. They are reopening with stringent new rules in place to protect public health and limit potential exposure to the virus.

To ensure that social distancing can be maintained, new signage, temporary barriers and a ‘one-in-one-out’ system will be in place, which will be managed by bus station staff.

Each time the facilities are used, they will be cleansed before the next person is allowed to enter. The toilets have been fitted with sanitiser gel dispensers to support hand-hygiene requirements, and additional ventilation has been installed to ensure a steady supply of fresh air.

The reopening of the toilets follows a recent announcement from Welsh Government that anyone using public transport must now also wear a suitable face covering.

As the country seeks to recover from the pandemic lockdown, a far wider range of businesses are being allowed to reopen.

Welsh Government is delivering regular updates on these changes, and Bridgend County Borough Council is encouraging residents to do all that they can to support local shops and traders.
