Essential resurfacing works on A4061 High Street in Ogmore Vale are due to start soon as part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s ongoing programme of highway improvements.
During the works, which are scheduled to start on Sunday 21 November, traffic will be controlled with a stop/go sign during the week and the road will be closed on Sundays with work expected to be completed by 30 November.
Local residents are reminded to avoid parking in the street while the resurfacing works are ongoing from 106 High Street to Bethania Row.
Road closures on Sundays will see the A4061 closed from its junction with Commercial Street, past the junction with Glyn Street and up to No.45 High Street. Access will be maintained for the fire station and some bus disruption is likely, and the works will be phased to provide as much access as possible to residents.
The works form part of the local authority’s highways improvement programme which is seeing roads across the county borough undergo resurfacing, repair and improvements as part of a major investment into the local highway network.
A4061 High Street in Ogmore Vale is the latest local road to benefit from the council’s rolling £2.7m programme of improvements.
As a busy route through the valley, every effort has been made to minimise disruption, but some inconvenience will be unavoidable in the short-term.
