Roots Street Festival is back in Bridgend

The ‘Roots Street Festival’ featuring a range of music, international flavours and workshops is returning to Bridgend town centre this weekend.

This free event offers live music, activities and workshops and foods from all around the world. From Samba to science, and a jam tent to football darts, there will be a wide range of activities to keep families entertained on Saturday 5 May and Sunday 6 May from 11am – 8pm.

Saturday will feature a variety of music genres, including reggae from Jeremiah Ferrari, Clackoutline (Ska/ Balkan), Johnny Trashed – a Johnny Cash tribute, Big Fat Blues Band performing blues and rock, indie rock from Just Drive, Anna Arrieta’s pop and rock covers, as well as Game Over and Nonconformists – two college bands. Sunday will offer a completely new line up including acoustic performances and djembe.

The event has been organised through a partnership between CF31 BID and Roots Street Festival, with support from Bridgend County Borough Council and Bridgend Town Council.

The Roots Street Festival was a big hit last year and we have no doubt it will be just as successful this year. This free family friendly event offers a diverse range of entertainment and activities for all ages to enjoy.

Come along; enjoy the festival and everything else that Bridgend town centre has to offer.
