Welsh rugby legend Scott Quinnell was the guest of honour for the Bridgend Business Forum’s annual St David’s Day breakfast event, where he kept dozens of local business people entertained with amusing tales of his experiences, both on and off the field.
Dozens of forum members battled through the snow to gather at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel in Coychurch to make a range of new business contacts. They heard Scott’s stories about the games he played, the tries he scored and the players and sporting legends he met on his journey.
Supported by Bridgend County Borough Council, the Bridgend Business Forum offers a collective voice for local businesses of all sizes and sectors in the county borough.
The annual St David’s Day breakfast event provided another useful opportunity for local businesses to come together and celebrate success in Bridgend County Borough.
The event was sold out and everyone who attended enjoyed hearing Scott Quinnell speak openly about the difficulties he’s overcome during his career. I’m sure that Scott’s determination to succeed both professionally and personally will inspire guests to achieve their own business aspirations.
Councillor Richard Young, Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities.
Bridgend Business Forum’s Chairman, Ian Jessopp, said: “The St David’s Day business breakfast was a fantastic networking opportunity and it was great to see so many local businesses gathered together. While the Beast from the East was causing chaos outside, we were treated to stories from the Best from the West, Scott Quinnell.
“I’d like to thank Scott for sharing his experiences with us and I’d also like to thank our main sponsor Baldwins Accountants as well as our event registration sponsor Aevitas, and KK Solutions. I look forward to many more successful events with the forum in the upcoming months.”
Matthew Curzon of Curzon Wealth Management, added: “I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Scott Quinnell was entertaining as always and it was a great chance to catch up with some like-minded business people in Bridgend. I’ll certainly be attending the next event and urge other business professionals to attend too.”
