Severe weather updates
Poster information

Update: Friday 1 February, 5pm
While much of the recent snow and ice has melted on lower ground, conditions remain severe at a number of locations within the county borough, so please continue to take care.
The Bwlch Mountain route remains closed as strong winds are driving snow onto road surfaces. We anticipate that it will re-open on the weekend.
Despite delays caused by the snow and ice, Kier have been out collecting recycling and waste. Crews will be out until late on Friday – if they are unable to complete a round, please leave your recycling and waste at the kerbside as Kier will be reassessing the situation on Monday.
The community recycling centres in Brynmenyn, Tythegston and Maesteg are all open, with the yards and access roads gritted.
A number of schools have been affected by the severe weather, and you can find full details on our school closures page.
