Families in Bridgend County Borough, whose children are eligible to receive free school meals, will shortly receive three separate digital payment vouchers for the school summer holidays.
Summer holiday period |
Issue date (between) |
Weeks 1 and 2 |
Wednesday 6 July to Friday 8 July 2022 |
Weeks 3 and 4 |
Wednesday 13 July to Friday 15 July 2022 |
Weeks 5 and 6 |
Wednesday 20 July to Friday 22 July 2022 |
Each £39 voucher covers a two-week period and will be sent directly to families before the end of term via email or mobile text message.
The vouchers will be redeemable at any ‘PayPoint’ outlet which are often located in local shops, major supermarkets and fuel filling stations.
The vouchers will all be valid until 1 September 2022 to allow parents to redeem these at their convenience during the summer holiday period.
Eligible parents will receive email vouchers from no-reply@paypointsvp.com and text vouchers will show as sent from ‘Cash Out’.
PayPoint has over 28,000 locations across the UK and are typically located in local shops, food stores, supermarkets and fuel filling stations.
Parents and carers can find their nearest Pay Point by following the link below: https://consumer.paypoint.com/
Parents/carers should present the voucher barcode at their nearest PayPoint where it will be redeemed with the applicable amount which is to be used for food and drinks for your child only. Please be aware at the present time McColls retailers are unable to cash vouchers.
We ask Parents/carers to keep an eye on their spam/junk email and if they haven’t received a voucher via email or text by the Friday of each week, they should email: FSMCOVID19@bridgend.gov.uk providing full details for their child/children and the school they attend so this can be investigated.
It’s pleasing that digital free school meal vouchers will be available for eligible pupils throughout the whole of the summer holidays.
It’s also great to see that the vouchers offer flexibility to families as they can be redeemed at a number of shops right across the county borough.
Councillor Jon-Paul Blundell, Cabinet Member for Education
Parents and carers should note that vouchers are sent out in batches and it is not uncommon for children in the same household to receive their vouchers at different times.
