Bridgend County Borough Council is supporting plans from the Welsh Rugby Union and Football Association Wales for enabling local sport to return.
In line with a return-to-play protocol, the council has agreed to make winter sports pitches and other related facilities available for use during the summer season.
This will apply throughout the summer in areas where cricket does not take priority.
While Covid-19 precautions will still be in effect at local pavilions, where possible, the council will also be making toilet facilities available at premises which are coronavirus-compliant.
Under the pandemic restrictions which have been put in place to keep people safe and restrict the spread of coronavirus, clubs have not been able to play football or use rugby pitches for some time.
With infection rates continuing to fall and pandemic restrictions easing, we want to do all that we can to help local sport to return. At the same time, we also need to continue to observe rules and regulations designed to reduce the risk of infection and exposure to Covid-19.
To find out more or to take advantage of this support, clubs will be able to book matches and training sessions by contacting parks@bridgend.gov.uk in the usual manner.
