Rest Bay, Trecco Bay and Porthcawl Marina have all retained their coveted Blue Flag awards.
2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the Blue Flag programme in Wales, which recognises the highest levels of cleanliness and water quality.
We are proud that these three sites have each retained their Blue Flag Awards. A Blue Flag is a mark of the highest quality environmental standards which is trusted around the globe.
Councillor Richard Young, Cabinet Member for Communities
A total of 47 Blue Flags have been awarded across Wales this year, meaning that Wales has more Blue Flag beaches per mile than anywhere else in Britain.
Councillor Young added: “We all have a responsibility to help keep our local beaches as clean as possible. During the last Bank Holiday Monday, council staff emptied seven lorry loads of rubbish from Porthcawl’s 220 bins as people flocked to the seaside to enjoy the fine weather.
“Unfortunately, there were some instances of visitors dumping their litter, showing complete disregard for others and the environment. If you can see that a bin is already full, please take your rubbish home and dispose of it there, or find another bin - don't just dump it and ruin the fun for everyone else."
