Pupils in two year groups at a Bridgend county borough school will learn from home until the end of term after five positive Covid-19 tests were confirmed.
Students in Years 11 and 13 at Bryntirion Comprehensive School will not return to their classrooms until after the Christmas break on Tuesday, 5 January, to allow them to self-isolate.
There have been two positive cases in Year 13 and three in Year 11.
Bridgend County Borough Council’s cabinet member for education Charles Smith said: “To allow pupils who have come into contact with those who have tested positive to self-isolate, the decision has been taken to revert to home learning for these two year groups.
“Parents and carers have been informed of the situation, and teachers at the school have set work for students to access digitally while at home.”
