Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed the latest arrangements for mobile testing facilities for residents in Bridgend County Borough who have coronavirus symptoms.
A new drive-through mobile testing facility will open on Friday 5 March at Bettws playing fields on Heol Richard Price (CF32 8SF). It will be available daily from 9am until 5pm and booking is essential.
The drive-through facility currently available at the Halo Swimming Pool on Marshfield Avenue in Pyle will close at the end of today (Thursday, 4 March).
A walk-through testing facility remains in place at the Bowls Hall car park off Bridgend Life Centre (Angel Street, Bridgend CF31 4AH). The facility is available 8am-8pm, seven days a week, and booking is also essential.
To arrange an appointment for either of these testing facilities, visit the Welsh Government website or call 119. People with hearing or speech difficulties can book an appointment by calling 18001119.
Covid-19 is still circulating in our communities so it is vital that residents who develop symptoms self-isolate immediately and book a test. The main symptoms are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a change or loss of your sense of smell or taste.
While vaccination programme continues to be rolled out across the county borough, it will take some time for everyone to be offered their first dose so it’s important that we all continue to follow the rules.
Council Leader Huw David
If you feel unwell, visit NHS 111 Wales online or contact your local community pharmacist. If necessary, you can also contact your local GP, but only call 999 or attend the emergency department if you are experiencing life-threatening symptoms.
Community testing has begun in the county borough for people who are not showing signs of coronavirus.
The first testing centre, which targets people living in Cefn Cribwr, Pyle, Kenfig Hill and Cornelly, is available at the Kenfig Hill Rugby and Football Club until Tuesday 9 March.
No booking is necessary for the walk-in centre, which is open between 9.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
