Tree management
Two ways to deal with dangerous trees
To remedy a dangerous tree on public land, you can email Planning or seek legal advice.
In your email, please state the exact location, and nature of the problem: planning@bridgend.gov.uk.
Seek further legal advice
To know the best course of action in complex cases, you can get legal advice. A solicitor could advise you, or we could provide some advice about the issue via the below details.

What we won’t do
We manage all essential tree maintenance, as with taking care of dangerous trees. Yet we won’t alter trees:
- for cosmetic reasons or appearance
- because they block light
- for the benefit of solar panels
- due to the loss or disruption of TV or satellite signals
- if they block a view
- due to shed leaves, fruit or debris, which we will also not remove
- due to branches overhanging adjoining land
- because they are tall or sway close to properties
Tree planting information
We are running a major tree planting and surgery project. See our article ‘Work to keep the county borough’s “urban forest” in good health’ for more information, and check our social media channels for updates.
