Grit bins
Bridgend County Borough Council maintains in excess of 400 grit bins across the county borough, a proportion of which have been provided in conjunction with Community and Town Councils.
These are usually found alongside residential roads and other minor routes, particularly where there may be junctions or steep hills. They are easy to spot as they are bright yellow.
Before the start of each winter we refill the bins with a mix of salt and sharp sand.
The bins are provided so that residents and motorists can use the grit when conditions deteriorate and make it easier to travel through local streets.
Please do not use grit on private land such as driveways.
