Overview

Following continued reductions in funding from central government all councils across the country are having to change the way they work and the services they provide so that they can manage with less. Bridgend County Borough Council has made reductions from its budget of over £30 million since 2012. Over the next four years the council is expecting to continue making reductions, totalling around £37 million.

Despite the financial challenges ahead, Bridgend County Borough Council is determined to deliver its vision of working together to improve lives across the county borough by focusing on the priorities you helped us set last year:

  1. Supporting a successful economy.
  2. Helping people to be more self-reliant.
  3. Smarter use of resources.

The council would like to hear the views of local residents, organisations and communities on where the council should seek to realise the budget reductions that it has make.
