£5,000 raised for charity by support centre staff and visitors

Over the past three years, staff and visitors to Pyle and Porthcawl Adult Support Centre have raised more than £5,000 for local charities.

Swimathons, coffee mornings and raffles are among the activities that have helped to raise the lofty sum for a range of worthy causes.

The money raised at the centre on Marshfield Avenue
has gone towards Christmas presents for local under-privileged children, Ty Hafan, Cefn Cribwr Primary School, an ex-colleague of the centre who had suffered a life changing accident, and a local woman who needed to raise funds for alternative cancer treatment.

Most recently, they raised £785 through swimathons and a bake sale for the #Hope4Hannah campaign.

I would like to congratulate everyone on all their outstanding efforts in raising a sizeable amount for a number of local charities. I understand that they have already started developing ideas for their upcoming Christmas fundraiser for under-privileged children, so I look forward to hearing how that develops.
