Council mark Holocaust Memorial Day

Bridgend County Borough Council marked Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 recently with a poignant public event, held at the Sony Theatre, Bridgend College.

Chewing gum bins target sticky problem

Innovative new ‘chewing gum’ bins have been stuck on lampposts along John Street in Porthcawl as part of the latest move to encourage recycling and cut down on waste.

Cabinet to discuss extra £8.8m

The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council is set to consider budget proposals for 2020-21 which could see an additional £8.8m invested in schools, highway maintenance, street cleansing, services for children who have additional learning needs and more.

Apply for nursery admissions online

Applications can be made online from Monday 6 January for nursery places for children who will be starting school full-time in September 2020 or part-time from January/April 2021.

Pupils pull together during school repairs

Pupils at Corneli Primary School, Ysgol Y Ferch o’r Sgêr and the Integrated Children’s Centre have offered the infants of Mynydd Cynffig Primary a helping hand after a burst pipe left their classrooms without heat and in need of extensive repairs.
