Active 4 Life offers up variety of free fun activities

A wide variety of fun activities have been arranged for children and young people across the county borough as part of the council’s Active 4 Life scheme.

Supported by the Council, Halo Leisure and Town and Community Councils, the scheme will treat children to a range of free fun activities in a number of safe locations.

Suitable for children aged eight to 11, the fun and varied sessions will focus on sports, games, arts and creative activities. The Active 4 Life schemes are part of the Summer of Fun 2021 programme, supported by the Welsh Government.

The sessions aim to run during the school holidays with full details of days and times to be found on the Council’s website for all programmes. Due to the need to safely manage numbers the sessions have been split into two sessions per day.

For schemes run by Bridgend County Borough Council, parents will need to attend an on-site registration day on Monday 26 July where arrangements can be explained and children officially registered. Registration will be between 2pm and 6pm. These are activity schemes rather than childcare and places cannot be guaranteed due to the restrictions.

This summer’s Active 4 Life scheme has an incredible range of exciting activities across the county borough, with something for all children and young people to enjoy.

Keeping children active throughout the holidays can be challenging, but with such a variety of fun options on offer this year the real test may be getting everything in

I’d like to thank each of our town and community councils, and partners for helping put together a programme of events and activities that I’m sure is going to be a very popular with local children and young people this summer.

Councillor Dhanisha Patel, Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Future Generations
