An additional Covid-19 mobile testing centre is being made available for residents of Bridgend County Borough.
The extra facility is being established at the Richard Price Centre in Llangeinor where it will be available seven days a week for walk-in tests between 9am-5pm starting on Thursday 8 October.
No booking is required to use the mobile testing centre, but please only attend if you are showing symptoms of coronavirus such as a high temperature, a new persistent cough, or a loss or change in your sense of taste or smell.
While waiting to use the service, queuing should be expected, so please remember to wear a mask. On arrival, health professionals will guide you through the process, and you will be asked to provide your name, date of birth, address and mobile phone number.
Once the test has been completed, you should return home immediately to self-isolate until the results have been confirmed. While most people will receive their results via text message the day after taking a test, some results may take a little longer.
The new mobile testing service which is being established at the Richard Price Centre joins the one that is already based within Bridgend town centre.
It is being provided following a recent rise in positive cases in the Garw, and I hope that residents of the valley will make full use of it as we seek to limit the spread of the virus.
Both mobile testing centres form an important part of our efforts to combat exposure to Covid-19, and will be of huge support to the people of Bridgend County Borough.
