Autumn craft fair to pop up at Bryngarw Park

An autumn craft fair will be held in the Visitor Centre at Bryngarw Park on Saturday 3 November (11am to 4pm) as part of the all-new Bridgend Craft Collective.
Launched last month by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Reach rural development team, the collective aims to bring creative people together so that they can develop their crafty talents, meet new friends and receive training in business practices, digital marketing and other skills.
Members of the Bridgend Craft Collective will be selling a wide range of hand-crafted items at the autumn craft fair as well as giving demonstrations every hour from 11am.
There’ll also be plenty on offer to keep children entertained with autumn themed storytelling and lots of fun activities while refreshments will be available to buy from the café.
Crafting has experienced a massive boost in popularity over the last few years, and you only have to look at how many ‘hobby entrepreneurs’ are selling online these days to see this.
The new Bridgend Craft Collective aims to tap into this and is open to seasoned crafters as well as new beginners. The collective will continue to set up opportunities for displaying and selling members’ work at craft fairs and exhibitions at prime locations, craft markets, craft trails, pop-up shops and more, with the hope to establish a local network of craft businesses, so please get involved and keep your eyes peeled for further events.

A total of five craft hubs have been set up, based at the following locations: The Caddt Centre in Cornelly, The Ancient Briton in Newton, Garw Valley Leisure Centre, The Community Church in Aberkenfig and the Cwm Ogwr Men’s Shed in Ogmore Vale.
The Bridgend Craft Collective has been organised in partnership between the Bridgend Reach team and Eclipse Gift Wrapping and is fully funded through the Thriving Rural Communities Scheme.
The project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
