Bridgend Indoor Market to partially reopen on Monday, June 15

Bridgend Indoor Market will be reopened on Monday, June 15, with all businesses classed as ‘essential’ being able to begin trading again.

A one-way system will be in place with two-metre markings on the floor to help ensure social distancing and hand sanitiser stations installed.

Access has been agreed with the Rhiw shopping centre through the entry doors next to WH Smith

A full risk assessment has been completed with stallholders receiving Covid-19 training along with instructions around maintaining social distancing requirements for both stallholders and customers within the market.

Only eight stalls fit within the ‘essential’ category of retailers permitted to open at this point but these steps will also enable expansion of the re-opening as, and when, the further easing of restrictions is confirmed by Welsh Government.

Those shops not yet able to re-open because of the essential criteria have been cordoned off. We will continue to monitor throughout the opening and operational processes to ensure a safe shopping and working environment can be maintained to limit the potential of exposure to the coronavirus.
