Bryngarw Country Park takes centre stage for outdoor theatre this summer

Bryngarw Country Park in Brynmenyn, near Bridgend, is set to stage six outdoor theatre events this summer.
The season starts with Immersion Theatre’s production of Peter Pan at 5.30pm on Wednesday 25 July. Eye-catching costumer, toe-tapping music and larger-than-life characters, including the Darling children, the lost boys, the cheeky Tinkerbell, the hilarious Smee, and the infamous Captain Hook, promise to capture the imaginations of young children and nostalgic adults alike.
On Wednesday 1 August at 3pm, Quantum Theatre return to Bryngarw with their adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s, The Reluctant Dragon - a touching, sweet and funny tale of bravery, friendship and derring-do for all the family.
Bryngarw’s annual Shakespearean performance will once again be provided by the Rain or Shine Theatre Company, with their production of Much Ado About Nothing on Wednesday 8 August at 8pm. From the dastardly Don John, to the daft Sergeant Dogberry, ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ will bring you revellers, rascals and romance.
Little Blue Monster return for a second year with their brand-new production Pirate Pearl and the Big Blue Monster at 2pm on Tuesday 14 August. Aimed at younger audiences, the show tells the story of Pearl, a little girl who loves to imagine she's sailing the seven seas on a swashbuckling pirate adventure!
Following last year’s successful (albeit soaking wet!) performance of 'Billionaire Boy', Heartbreak Productions are returning to the park at 7pm on 15th August with another family favourite, Pride and Prejudice. The performance will include the Bennet sisters, and a host of charming young bachelors for an evening of comedy, romance, and more than one come-uppance, as we learn how to behave, ahem, properly.
On 22nd August at 6pm, Heartbreak Productions will once again return to the park with their adaption of the David Walliams' best-selling book, The Midnight Gang. On a crucial mission to overcome greatest fears and uncover the magic ingredient to a fantastic friendship, the last show of the summer season is perfect for those that enjoy magic, making mischief, and making memories.
Our programme of open-air theatre at Bryngarw Country Park is becoming more successful each year. By offering something for all ages and interests, we hope to encourage even more families to enjoy time in the great outdoors and experience the natural heritage we have on our doorstep. Our audiences are invited to bring along rugs and blankets, pack a picnic and take in the beautiful surroundings of Bryngarw, whilst enjoying the shows.

These events will take place outside and will go ahead in rain or shine. There are no seats in the Park, but visitors are welcome to bring low-backed chairs or blankets to sit on. Picnics are welcome, or refreshments can be bought from Cedars Tea Room. Children must be accompanied at all times.
