Council appeal for carers to come forward

Bridgend County Borough Council is calling on residents who have experience of working within social care to help support those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

A number of paid roles are available within the local authority at the moment and those who have previously worked in social care before or have transferable skills are invited to apply.

Cabinet member for social services and early help Nicole Burnett said: “Our social care services are under enormous pressure at the moment due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. If you have experience of working within this sector, we really need you and you can help to make a huge difference to the lives of local people.

“Social care is essential, rewarding work which has a positive impact. These are unprecedented times that we are living through and many people need our help and support. We encourage those who are interested in helping to care and support people in need to contact us.”

The local authority supports more than 4,000 residents both in care homes across the county borough and in their own home.
