Council to fly flag for 999 Day

Bridgend County Borough Council will be showing its support for the NHS and emergency services by flying a flag from the Civic Offices on 999 Day.
The UK-wide celebration tomorrow (Thursday, September 9) aims to promote the NHS and 999 heroes who have served the British public as well as promoting career and volunteer opportunities, responsible use of the emergency services and the work done by emergency services charities.
A 999 Day flag will be raised at local authority buildings across the country including from the Civic Offices in Bridgend town centre. The day will also be marked by a two minutes’ silence to remember all the emergency services personnel killed as a result of their duty.
The national day was founded in 2016 and is supported by Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge, the Prime Minister and First Ministers of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
We are proud to be supporting 999 Day this year by flying the flag from the Civic Offices.
Our NHS and 999 heroes do an incredible job in keeping us safe and this day is the perfect opportunity to honour them and remember those who have lost their life serving the nation.
We invite everyone across Bridgend County Borough to join us in celebrating our emergency services on September 9.
