Don’t miss your chance to share views on Local Development Plan

There is still time to have your say on a draft masterplan which will be used to determine what kinds of development can take place throughout Bridgend County Borough between now and 2033.

Currently at the draft deposit stage, the Replacement Local Development Plan (LDP) features all of the policies that the authority will use when determining future planning applications.

It sets out how land can be used, and which parts of the county borough will be maintained as open space or designated for residential, employment, retail, waste, mineral development, community and tourism purposes.

A public consultation is underway to provide local residents with an opportunity to have their say and help the plan to take shape.

The LDP seeks to ensure that there are enough new homes to meet the needs of growing communities within the county borough while also providing fresh infrastructure and facilities, and drawing in fresh economic investment to the area.

It aims to support the creation of 5,000 additional jobs, deliver new developments and regeneration within Bridgend, Pencoed, Maesteg, Pyle and Porthcawl, and to ensure that each new development contributes positively to creating or enhancing environments within which people, communities, businesses and nature can thrive.

There is still time for people to have their say, and I hope that as many residents as possible will take a look and share their views.

Councillor Stuart Baldwin, Cabinet Member for Communities

You can view the plan and have your say by visiting the council website. Alternative formats are available on request, and the consultation ends on Tuesday 27 July.
