Firework displays in Bridgend County Borough 2019

A number of public firework displays organised by town and community councils, local businesses and other groups will be held across Bridgend County Borough this November. Here are details for some of them:

Friday 1 November

• Tondu: Fireworks display and Halloween party at Tondu Cricket Club. Halloween party will start at 6pm; whilst the fireworks display will take place at 7pm. Admission is £3 for adults, £2 for children. Refreshments will be available. No parking available. Organised by Tondu Cricket Club.

Saturday 2 November

• Heol-Y-Cyw: Firework display at Heol-Y-Cyw RFC starting at 6.30pm. Admission is free. Organised by Coychurch Higher Community Council and Heol-Y-Cyw RFC.
• Laleston: Firework display at Bryntirion Community Centre Fields. Starts at 7pm. Admission is free. Sideshow amusements and refreshments will be available from 5.30pm. Organised by Laleston Community Council.
• Porthcawl: Seafront firework display at Hi Tide Inn. Starts from 7.30pm onwards. Admission is free. Organised by the Hi Tide Inn. POSTPONED until Tuesday 5^th November

Tuesday 5 November

• Brackla: Firework display at Archbishop McGrath Comprehensive. Gates open at 6pm with display starting at 7pm. Admission is £1 for adults, free for children. Refreshments will be available. Organised by Brackla Community Council.
• Pencoed: Firework display at Felindre Road playing fields. Starts at 6.15pm. Admission is free. Organised by Pencoed Town Council.
• Maesteg: Charity firework display at Maesteg Rugby Club. Gates open at 6:30pm with display starting at 7.30pm. Admission is £6 per person or £20 for family of four. Organised by the Rotary Club.
• Pyle: Firework display at Pyle RFC starting at 7pm approx. Admission is £2.50 for persons over the age of three. Refreshments will be available. Organised by Pyle RFC.

                                                                          
Stay safe this bonfire night - follow the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ safety code:

• Plan your firework display to make it safe and enjoyable.
• Keep fireworks in a closed box and use them one at a time.
• Read and follow the instructions on each firework using a torch if necessary.
• Light the firework at arm's length with a taper and stand well back.
• Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks.
• Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
• Don't put fireworks in pockets and never throw them.
• Direct any rocket fireworks well away from spectators.
• Never use paraffin or petrol on a bonfire.
• Make sure that the fire is out and surroundings are made safe before leaving.
