Four fantastic events head to Bridgend town centre this summer

Clear your diaries for a range of fantastic free events in Bridgend town centre this summer.

From a Dinosaur Show for the little ones, to the Roots Street Festival, there will be something for everyone this summer at the events which have been organised by Bridgend County Borough Council and the CF31 Bid group.

Classic Car Show – 21 July, 10am to 4pm:

Start your engines for the annual classic car show, which will feature a mix of classic cars from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Families will be able to get up close to some golden oldies in this free event which will also feature live entertainment, while the monthly street market and indoor market craft fayre will be held on the same day.

Dinosaur Show – 9 August, 11am to 5pm:

Proven to have been a ‘roaring’ success in the past, the Dinosaur Show is storming its way back into the town centre! Start your adventure watching the realistic animatronic dinosaurs, then check out the small interactive puppets and explore exciting fossils.

Sound of Summer with Bridge FM – 11 August – 1 September, 11am to 4pm:

The streets will be jam-packed full of music every weekend until 1 September, with performances from budding musicians. Each performer will then be entered into a competition to win the chance to perform at the Roots Street festival.

Roots Street Festival – 15 September, 11am to 8pm:

Alongside some fantastic live music, there will be a variety of workshops available, activities to enjoy, circus acts to see and some delicious international cuisine to test your taste buds.

These events are going to make for a fantastic summer, with so many different things to see and do throughout the coming months. Don’t forget that the first hour of parking in the Rhiw car park is free as well.”
