Generous businesses and organisations donate gifts to Santa Appeal

Hundreds of youngsters across Bridgend County Borough will be getting a Christmas present this year after toys and gifts were donated to this year’s Santa Appeal.

Organised by Bridgend County Borough Council’s Social Services and Wellbeing Business Support staff, the appeal aims to provide Christmas presents to those who may not otherwise receive a gift.

The appeal was also supported by a number of businesses and organisations in the county borough including Brackla Tabernacle Church, Bridgend’s Hope Baptist Church, Glo, Hafod y Wennol Assessment and Treatment Unit as well as a Member of the Senedd.

Pupils at Brynteg Comprehensive School helped fundraise over £3,000 by holding a range of events including a Santa Dash and a raffle. Year 10 pupils at the school also contributed 60 bags of presents as part of the Skills Challenge Week.

In addition, The Youth Justice Service donated to the cause by designing and printing 320 Christmas cards for each parcel of presents delivered.

I would like to offer a massive thank you to all the businesses, organisations and individuals who have donated to this year’s Santa Appeal.

During what has been yet another difficult year full of uncertainties, it’s fantastic to see communities come together in this act of kindness.

Hundreds of gifts have been donated which are sure to brighten Christmas Day for vulnerable young people across the county borough
