Last chance to have your say on draft Welsh Language Strategy

Residents can still have their say on the local authority’s draft Welsh Language Strategy for 2021-2026.

The results of the consultation will be used to inform Bridgend County Borough Council’s final Welsh language strategy which is being implemented in September 2021.

The consultation runs until Friday 18 June and is an opportunity for residents, the council’s workforce, elected members and stakeholders to share their views on the local authority’s proposed Welsh language objectives.

As part of its requirements under the Welsh Language Standards, Bridgend County Borough Council has to produce a five-year strategy and an annual report to outline how it has complied with the standards, progress made towards objectives, and how, in collaboration with partners, it has promoted and facilitated the use of the Welsh language more widely in the county borough.

We would encourage residents to have their say with their responses helping to shape a strategy that meets their needs and builds on the progress we have made over the past five years.

In addition to listening to our residents, communities and staff, we will also look at a range of information, including regional priorities and service delivery plans, to support us in identifying objectives.
