New classrooms for Cefn Cribwr Primary

Work to provide new school classrooms for pupils at Cefn Cribwr Primary is in the final stages and on track to be revealed early next month.

Despite the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, work has taken place to demolish an unsuitable double mobile classroom and replace it with two new observation classrooms.

These have been specially designed for supporting pupils with additional learning needs, and include new toilets, cloakroom areas and storage.

The £513,000 project also features a safe space for interventions, and an all-new external soft-play area.

This impressive project has taken place despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. This impressive project has taken place despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s great to see that the work is set to be completed, and that pupils will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of their new classrooms.

Councillor Charles Smith, Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration

Council Leader Huw David added: “This has been a long-cherished project for the local community, and the late deputy headmaster Steve White was instrumental in enabling it to take place.

“When the new classrooms open next month, they will be a tribute to his efforts and of huge benefit to new generations of local children.”
