New toolkit launched for event organisers

A handy new toolkit has been launched to help those planning to organise events across Bridgend County Borough.

The toolkit, which can be found on the Bridgend County Borough Council website, provides six easy to follow steps for organisers and is the one-stop shop for all the links and information relevant to event planning.

It also reminds organisers to engage early with the Events Safety Advisory Group (ESAG) and especially before incurring costs or promoting events. This is of particular importance during the gradual lifting of restrictions following the Covid-19 outbreak.

ESAG gives advice and guidance to organisers on safety and regulatory related aspects of planned public events.

Fully formed event plans should be supplied at least 10 working days prior to a meeting if they are to be included on the agenda for discussion. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. An initial event notification form should be submitted as soon as event planning begins, often several months before the event.

The new toolkit is a brilliant resource and a very handy guide for those planning to organise events in the county borough.

We hope the toolkit will provide a simple, uncomplicated way of putting events together and encourage more fantastic events to take place once Covid-19 restrictions permit.
